In Celtic mythology the Oak tree is an ancient symbol of truth, courage and wisdom.
This spiritual tree is sacred in many cultures and treasured for its strength and beauty. To catch a falling oak leaf brings good luck and prosperity too.
This beautifully gift wrapped Oak tree has an abundance of lush, green leaves in spring and summer, this dense foliage is wonderful for our garden birds to safely make their nests. In spring pale yellow flowers hang in catkins and are wonderful for bees and butterflies. The small acorns, which ripen in late summer, are delicious when lightly roasted. The Oak tree will happily thrive in any garden and can tolerate temperates as low as -15C.
When you place your order a beautiful tree will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners here, before being carefully wrapped in organza and placed in a luxury parcel.
An exclusively designed card with your personal message, the story of the Oak tree's ancient symbolism and a full care guide is also enclosed with your gift. You can add an engraved brass plaque (see images) inscribed with your message so this special gift is always remembered.
Please note: This deciduous tree will remain bare and dormant all winter until the warmth of our spring sunshine encourages new buds and leaves to grow - it's well worth the wait.
Caring for your tree
Your Irish Oak tree is growing in its organic pot filled with top-notch compost, so no green fingers are required, just natural daylight and water. We have added special nutrients to your tree’s compost to create the perfect balance of nourishment. These little beads of goodness will release into the soil for the next 9 months to ensure your tree continues to flourish.
In a few weeks, plant your tree, still in its organic pot so the roots are not disturbed, in a large outdoor flower pot (one with holes for drainage) or plant in a sunny spot in the garden.
This Oak tree is 40-50cm high, it will enjoy being pruned in early spring and may reach a height of 2 metres in 10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.
Your parcel travels in a clear eco bag so the couriers and recipients are aware a living tree is inside it and must be opened as soon as possible.
