Details
When you place your order a beautiful Orange tree, botanical name: Calamondin fortunella, will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners before being wrapped and placed in its luxury parcel.
The bright orange fruits then ripen over several months can be eaten straight from the tree. They are also wonderful for squeezing over your favourite tipple, making an orange liquor or a delicious marmalade.
This Orange tree is 25-35cm high with fruit ripening now and a promise of scented flowers over the next few months. It can be trimmed every year and may reach 2m high if allowed to grow naturally.
Add a personalised brass heart, star or plaque (see images) engraved with your message so this special gift is always remembered.
Symbolism
In ancient mythology the Orange tree symbolises loyalty, friendship and generosity. Read about the Orange tree's symbolism by clicking here.
Tree Care
Your Orange tree will happily grow in its organic pot for the next few weeks, just place it on a sunny windowsill (away from radiators!) or in a cool conservatory. Citrus trees appreciate being drenched with water only when the soil is almost dry. We have added organic nutrients to your tree’s compost to create the perfect balance of elements and nourishment. This organic goodness will release into the soil to ensure your tree continues to flourish.
Plant your Orange tree (still in its organic pot so the roots are not disturbed) in a large flower pot with holes, so excess water can drain away. Your Orange tree will thrive in a bright, cool room, conservatory or greenhouse all year.
It will enjoy being lightly pruned in early spring and may reach a height of 2 metres in 10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.
