Wild Pear tree

This Wild Pear is a gorgeous deciduous tree with delicate, spring blossoms and dainty pears which ripen in autumn. It will happily grow in any garden and is wonderful for wildlife, especially birds and bees.

When you place your order a Wild Pear tree, botanical name: Pyrus communis, will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners here, before being gift wrapped and placed in its parcel.

This Wild Pear tree is quite happy to be lightly pruned in early autumn and will reach a height of 4 metres in 10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.

A card with your personal message, the story of the Wild Pear tree's ancient symbolism and a full care guide is also enclosed with your gift. Add a personalised brass heart, star or plaque (see images) engraved with your message so this special gift is always remembered.

This deciduous tree naturally sheds its leaves every autumn and will remain in its dormant phase all winter. Fresh, new leaves will grow in spring and it’s well worth the wait. Read more about deciduous trees here.

In Ancient mythology the Pear tree symbolises good health and a long, happy life.

Every tree is growing in its organic pot filled with top-notch compost, so no green fingers are required, just natural daylight and water. We have added special nutrients to your Pear tree’s compost to create the perfect balance of nourishment. This organic goodness will gradually release into the soil to ensure your tree continues to flourish.

Place your tree outside, in its natural environment, even in chilly winter. In a few weeks, plant your tree, still in its organic pot, in a large flower pot (one with holes so excess water can drain away) or in a sunny spot in the garden.

The Present Tree's Organic Plant Care Kit is packed with all the health-boosting goodness suitable for your Wild Pear tree. Click here for more details.
