Rowan tree

This beautifully wrapped Rowan is a gorgeous slender tree with lush leaves and creamy-white flowers every spring. It has masses of bright, red berries in autumn which make delicious jelly. It will happily thrive in any garden and is wonderful for wildlife, especially our bees and garden birds.

This deciduous tree naturally sheds its leaves every autumn and will remain in its dormant phase all winter. Fresh, new leaves will grow in spring and it’s well worth the wait. Read more about deciduous trees here.

When you place your order a Rowan tree (total height 50cm+ or 30cm+) botanical name: Sorbus aucuparia, will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners here, before being wrapped and placed in its luxury parcel.

This Rowan tree is quite happy to be lightly pruned in early spring and will reach a height of 3 metres in 5-10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.

A card with your personal message, the story of your Rowan tree's ancient symbolism and a full care guide is also enclosed with your gift. Add a personalised brass heart, star or plaque (see images) engraved with your message so this special gift is always remembered.

In Celtic mythology the Rowan is known as the 'Tree of Life’ and symbolises wisdom and protection. It’s a sacred tree that protects the dwelling by which it grows.

Every Rowan tree is growing in its organic pot filled with top-notch compost, so no green fingers are required, just natural daylight and water. We have added special nutrients to your Rowan tree’s compost to create the perfect balance of nourishment. This organic goodness will release into the soil to ensure your tree continues to flourish.

Place your tree outside, in its natural environment, even in chilly winter. In a few weeks, plant your tree, still in its organic pot, in a large flower pot (one with holes so excess water can drain away) or in a sunny spot in the garden.

The Present Tree's Organic Plant Care Kit is packed with all the health-boosting goodness suitable for your Rowan tree. Click here for more details.
