Hawthorn tree

This beautifully wrapped Hawthorn is a gorgeous dainty tree with dense foliage and masses of fragrant, white blossom in spring. It will happily thrive in any garden and is wonderful for wildlife, especially our song birds and bees.

This deciduous tree naturally sheds its leaves every autumn and will remain in its dormant phase all winter. Fresh, new leaves will grow in spring and it’s well worth the wait. Read more about deciduous trees here.

When you place your order a Hawthorn tree, (total height 50cm+ or 30cm+) botanical name: Crataegus monogyna, will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners here, before being wrapped and placed in its luxury parcel.

This Hawthorn tree is quite happy to be lightly pruned in early spring and will reach a height of 3 metres in 10 years, if allowed to grow naturally.

A card with your personal message, the story of your Hawthorn tree's ancient symbolism and a full care guide is also enclosed with your gift. Add a personalised brass heart, star or plaque (see images) engraved with your message so this special gift is always remembered.

In Celtic mythology the Hawthorn is the most magical tree and symbolises love and protection. It is so sacred fairies live under the Hawthorn tree to guard it.

Every tree is growing in its organic pot filled with top-notch compost, so no green fingers are required, just natural daylight and water. We have added special nutrients to your tree’s compost to create the perfect balance of nourishment. This organic goodness will slowly release into the soil to ensure your tree continues to flourish.

In a few weeks, plant your tree, still in its organic pot, in a large flower pot (one with holes so excess water can drain away) or in a sunny spot in the garden.

The Present Tree's Organic Plant Care is packed with all the health-boosting goodness suitable for your Hawthorn tree. Click here for more details.
