This Fig tree is organically nurtured in The Present Tree's gardens. When you place your order, a beautiful Fig tree, botanical name: Ficus carica, will be freshly selected by our devoted gardeners here, before being wrapped and placed in its luxury parcel.
This Fig tree has recently been pruned back to encourage new growth (and fruit!) in spring. It will reach a height of 2 metres in 5 years, if allowed to grow naturally.
A card with your personal message, the story of the Fig tree's ancient symbolism and a full care guide is also enclosed with your gift. Add a personalised brass heart, star or plaque (see images) engraved with your message so this special gift is always remembered.
This deciduous tree naturally sheds its leaves every autumn and will remain in its dormant phase all winter. Fresh, new leaves will grow in spring and it’s well worth the wait. Read more about deciduous trees here.

The organic pot will gradually biodegrade over several weeks. Then it will be time to plant your tree, still in its organic pot so the roots are not disturbed, in a large flower pot (one with holes for drainage) or in a sunny, sheltered spot in the garden.
