A bouquet garni is a fragrant bundle of aromatic herbs tied together and added to the pot to enhance the flavour of slow cooked dishes like delicious stews and soups.
Our favourite combination is a bunch of 2 thyme sprigs, 4 parsley stalks and 3 bay leaves. We add it to our home-made lentil soup and hearty casseroles... and we usually remember to take it out before serving!
If you would like to grow your own bay leaves you can purchase an aromatic, evergreen bay tree here.
Here's some of our favourite ways to use a bouquet garni
1. In a vegetable soup
2. When roasting chicken
3. In a warming casserole or stew
